Its not to cater to the wild card teams its to give a clear cut advantage to the number 1 team by messing with the wild card teams pitching rotation.

The thing that I'm mostly annoyed at, is we were like 10 games ahead of the Cardinals, it's stupid that it can be ruined by just one loss.
