Choo is pretty good. I'd be happy to see him leave the division.

CLEVELAND -- Shin-Soo Choo didn't want to be part of the Indians' future. So they're moving on without him.

Cleveland traded the talented outfielder to the Cincinnati Reds and acquired prized pitching prospect Trevor Bauer from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night in a three-team deal involving nine players.

The Indians obtained center fielder Drew Stubbs from Cincinnati and received Bauer, the No. 3 pick in the 2011 draft, along with right-handers Matt Albers and Bryan Shaw from the Diamondbacks.

"This is a trade that can impact our team not only for 2013, but for the future," Indians general manager Chris Antonetti said. "Three of the players we acquired we will have under control for at least the next three seasons."

Cleveland shipped Choo, infielder Jason Donald and about $3.5 million to the Reds, while sending left-handed reliever Tony Sipp and first baseman Lars Anderson to Arizona.

The Diamondbacks also received shortstop prospect Didi Gregorius from Cincinnati.

Choo, who has been Cleveland's primary right fielder since 2006, will play center and bat leadoff for Cincinnati.

I see it as a big improvement because stubbs wasn't getting the job done at all

i wouldn't expect choo to hit any where near .300 as your leadoff guy in a new league

also good deal for the indians

Would you pay attention to those involved in the trade please. Stubbs hit 206 last year and has almost led in strikes outs the last several years. Its a step up until billy hamilton is ready.

i do pay attention...im talking about bauer...hes a good prospect ...as far as choo hes a leadoff guy whos going to walk some...hit the occasional HR and strike out at least 150 times ..maybe reach 40 doubles as well..im not saying its not an upgrade im just saying IMO it doesn't change the reds expectations for next summer.

Actually it does. Choo> stubbs end of story.

whatever...iv have watched the guy play over the last 4 years...hes not a game changer...he a good player...but he also doesn't fit the leadoff role in my eyes...getting choo doesn't effect there expectations of winning the division next year...they still expect to do that

    hunter siging> choo trade

i wouldn't let anyone that strikes out that much lead off. dusty baker knows how to build a lineup though. matt williams and jeff kent owed their careers to his decision to leave barry bonds in the 5 hole behind them so they'd get better pitches.

he still sucks with pitchers doe

Lol. I just find it funny someone could be dumb enough to say the trade isn't a step up from what we had.

lol i just find it funny someone would be so dumb to not read my posts and then call me dumb

"im not saying its not an upgrade"

it is an upgrade....its just not one that changes your expectations for the summer...getting choo doesn't make everyone think the reds are now the favorite in the NL
