You seem upset. I just said I care more about a universal set of rules. If the DH were eliminated it would suck, but at least the playing field would be even.

Because AL teams would have to adjust their strategy and it would be ugly for a while while the former DHs get phased out of the game.

To be fair most of those DH's should have already been pushed out of the game. It wouldn't be ugly if those teams are truly good. The one big thing that would change is the manager would actually have to manage and play the strategy game

Even when the Tigers play in the National League parks I haven't seen much of a change in Jim Leyland's managing. Pinch hitting for the pitcher? Ok. Double switch? Ok. That's it.

yeah the strategy isn't overwhelming....plus if you can still hit you should be able to still play...after all if your team can't score runs you cant win so hitting is about the most important thing in the game

Taking a hitter out of your lineup for a pitcher is a disadvantage.

No it's not. For two reasons. That's the way the game was meant to be played, and it's not like the other team gets to use the DH and you don't.

Taking a power hitter out of the lineup and replacing him with a pitcher isn't a disadvantage against a National League team whose lineup is built to compensate for the lack of a DH? Ooook.

I still don't see it as being unfair. They don't have a distinct advantage. Many NL teams have people sitting on the bench that could be a DH in the American league.
