If they win the series in the next few years with Beltrán contributing, I won't complain.
If they do win it will be because of pitching and catching fire like they did last year, Beltran is not the saviour. Wheeler would have been nice for you guys in a few years....
George, only Hamels has a World Series championship ring......that's what I meant. Lee has gotten there a couple times but that means next to nothing unless your goal is to collect pennants.
but you said they have to prove it come playoff time and they have, all of them. It isnt Lee's fault he hasnt had run support, same with Halladay and Oswalt. They are all proven pitchers in the regular and post season. THe entire offense is healthy right now and they are 20+ games over 500. they won their last 9 series. If that Offense stays healthy, they are the favorites to win it all.
lee while great in the playoffs has a career 4.55 era in the world series....and against those giants he was terrible when his team needed him most 6+ era last year
The Giants were on fire. Lee was unhitable against the Yankees in the WS the year before, he just ran into one of the hottest teams I've ever seen. His ERA against thw yankees in the series is under 2.00. The Giants were unstopable last year, noone could stop them, The braves, phils, and rangers all had great pitching and the giants handled them all, they deserved that series. 2 games against that team doesnt take away from the other 8 games he started in the playoffs.
also while oswalt has only pitched one game in the WS but his ERA is 7.5....and cole hamels era is 4.67 in the world series...so out of your 4 studs...3 of them have been to the WS and they all have well over a 4 plus era there...i would not be so confident especially cause the giants beat all those guys last year

Cole Hamels had a bad year that year... what about the year where he damn near single handedly won the World series for his team?
yeah..white sox are about to go into full sell mode
Not necessarily. They've been using a 6 man rotation for a long ass time, so they finally unloaded some payroll. Plus Jackson will be a free agent next year, so at least they got something for him. They are only 3 1/2 out with nothing too menacing ahead of them in a shitty division, but they play New York and Boston coming up. If they drop down to like 6 games out, then I expect them to start unloading people.
