^This. They don't have a weak album. Chuck is one of the greatest death metal musicians we'll ever see. Over the course of those albums you see death metal created in its rawest state, then tweaked, experimented with, and refined.....it's beautiful when you listen to them in chronological order.
but don't take it the wrong way. Check out The Fathomless Mastery if you want some groovy death metal.

I like alot of death metal even though i might not know it as well as you but I think almost all black metal is retarded, i disagree usually with their lyrical philosophy and their song structure and all that stuff. especially when the black metal artists all most try on purpose for the low - fi recorded on a tape player sound. its fuckin stupid. ill take at least a real song in lamb of god that a bunch of gay noise like burzum or mayhem anyday

You see, you're implying here that black metal is not varied and it's all "GOAT RAPE FOR SATAN." Black Metal lyrics stretch far beyond that, and can be really philosophical, tell a great story, or express emotion. Lamb of God don't have good lyrics, with their political drabbling and such. Black metal is the widest sub genre of metal, and allows for the most creativity in song structure. Listen to Forest Silence, Vesania, Bathory, and Primordial, and then say that it all sounds the same. And Burzum and Mayhem noise? That's just an ignorant statement, the same as the one's made by people who don't listen to metal. I'm sure you don't like it when people say "metal is noise, why do they scream?"
im sorry i agree with you that i hate when people say that metal is all noise and whatever but i have given black metal a legitimate shot and wanted to like but cant get into it at all. i just dont like the style, like you said i usually go for a more groove style of metal. I hadnt dove that deep into the genre but have listened to the big ones that people talk about the most and just dont like it. and for the record i never said it was all the same. I prefer almost all genres of metal to black except for gay ass power metal. I still think it takes talent i can respect them as artists but the souund has like no flow and most songs are truly hard to follow. I keep tryin to like it but have failed every time...

Ive listened to mayhem,burzum,bathory,immortal,darkthrone,emperor,carpathian forest and stuff like that. I hated all of it for the most part. the closest i can get to black metal is blackened death bands like belphegor,goatwhore, and akercocke because their songs actually have a flow of a real song. i truly feel sometimes black metal artists try to make their songs unlistenable on purpose......
