Metal Band Name Pronunciation Thread

You know, cause sometimes I'm not always sure if a band's name is really pronounced the way I think, especially folk/viking metal ones.

So here is a thread where we can (hopefully) ask about and share how band names are pronounced or how we say them.

The idea is to help other pronounce foreign band names at least somewhat correctly (not that it matters), so let's try not be silly and ask how to pronounce Slayer or Suffocation or things like that.



I suppose I'll start it for a bit of an example:

Ensiferum: I pronounce it as (Ehn - SI [like sight] - fur - uhm), but all of my friends say (Ehn - sih - FEER - uhm).

And I've been wondering how to pronounce Eluveitie. I've tried and made it come out as (Ehl - OO - vet - ee), but I think that might be wrong.

that's how I pronounce it.

It took me a few months to be able to pronounce Ihsahn, but once his new album came out people have been pronouncing it differenlty from me, and it's trippin me up. I say it like ice on.

Also, Trevor Strnad. Ideas?

Reading Ihsahn makes me want to pronounce it as (Ih [like in] - sawn)

How do you pronounce Amon Amarth? I've always pronounced it A-mun A-marth but some one told me it's Ah-mon Ah-marth.

When Dimmu Borgir played Wacken 2007, Shagrath said "we're Dimmu Borgir", and he pronounced it like Dee-mu Bor-guir.

I always say Satee-rye-con but I'm pretty sure the right way is Sat-ear-icon.
