My mom's dad was admitted to the hospital today. He's got some sort of fluid in his lungs.
Also I'm on mu way to see my dad's grandfather for the last time. He's got Alzheimer's pretty bad and the doctors said he probably won't make it past tonight. I never really knew him much but I'm coming with my dad and grandma to see him. Thought I'd give em some company.
i always wondered what the actual cause of death was for a person with Alzheimers [sp?] like do they eventually forget how to breathe? i just never knew or does it affect your immune system in some way?

Usually a sort of infection is the cause of death. My grandmother died of pneumonia resulting from Alzheimer's, which is very common. Since she was physically incapable of fighting the disease, it killed her.
