I think college is a racket to a large extent. I just lied on my résumé and ended up getting a job for people with masters degrees and I blow most of my more-educated peers out of the water in terms of comprehension. I mean, I *train* attorneys now at work and I didn't even finish high school
College isn't for everybody and I wish parents, schools, and employers would realize that instead of forcing people that have no business in college to go. There are places that won't hire for the simplest of jobs like working a mail room unless you have a degree all while you're making minimum wage and thousands in debt. It's getting out of hand in my opinion. Now before people get all pissy I'm not putting down the people that put in their work for a specific field in college.
I decided not to go to college out of high school because I would not have done a thing when I got there. Instead I entered the work force. I have no debt from student loans and am able to live a good life off of what I do. You don't need it but the jobs like I have are harder and harder to come by without an education. I may go here in the near future to help myself move through the company however it will be paid for by them.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
My main thing is: education does not make someone intelligent. It just makes them learned. Some of the attorneys i work with have absolutely no common sense, but they have a law degree and are trusted with people's financial well-being daily. I think it's nuts. I used to think standardized testing was aight because I always got really good scores even though i'd usually be failing in school. Now, I think that testing might be circumventing a more serious, legitimate appraisal of someones abilities. I don't know a solution, but I definitely think the way things are now is a problem. It seriously keeps me up at night thinking that people who are doctors that could be operating on my kids or girlfriend are as retarded as some of the attorneys i know.
Anywhom, I'm going to the local community college for gen eds n such. Don't really know what i want to do but I think I'm just gonna get an associates in arts or whatever. I know it's not worth much but ehh, whatevs
TUPAC IS DEAD/THE LEGEND IS GONE/THEY SAYIN TUPAC'S BACK?/DEM NIGGAS WRONG
I fucking hate that. Spend big money on books but get like $5 or $10 for them at the end of the school year because of the stupid ass "new" edition that has like an extra page. Shit is stupid.
I download all my University text books, shove them on my Nexus 7, and use that instead of being ripped off by the bookstore. When I was in school for my undergrad degree, it was damn near impossible to find a free electronic version. Now that everyone ereaders, I always find a copy.
Speaking of college my mom keeps talking about me moving to Fairmont, WV and going to college there. I'm still not sure if I even want to go. The more I think about it and the cost of everything of where I'd like to go to college, if I go at all, is making me really wonder if it's worth $85,000 or more
I wouldnt spend 85G for an education. However, you should consider spending 2G for a community college AA/AS degree. An AA/AS degree will open more doors for you than an HS diploma, the AA/AS degree is transferable to any University, So theoretically speaking if you dig college after community college than you only have 2 more years at the University. Do a cost analysis of what degree you are thinking of getting verses how much you will be paid after getting it, verses the cost of going two years at the university. If the numbers make sense, than do it. If not dont. but an Associates degree is cheap and a good path to take.

Isnt that what Bianca did?
That's the thing, there is not one thing I care to do at a community college. Besides, if I go to college for photography those community college credits will mean jack shit cuz they won't transfer to that school. I wouldn't be going to any Universities in that situation either. I will figure out what I want to do when it comes to college and if getting into major debt in my life for at least 10 years would be worth it in the end. If I don't go, I don't go. But I hope to god the people I know would shut the fuck up about me going
my CC had a photography program as do others im sure theres also VOTEC programs for photography so really, its not a lack of resources, its a lack of motivation
I wish I went straight to a 4 year out of high school. Oh well.
im spr glad i didnt saved a buttload of cash and stress for both me and my parents going to CC first was such a great idea considering i didnt know what i wanted to do at the time now that i know, yea i could have gone for an Environmental Science degree over a Liberal Arts but i still got a good portion of my classes covered plus, if i went straight out of HS to a university, i wouldnt have made it because of my separation anxiety CC helped a lot as kind of a stepping stone

Looking back, it didn't help me. It crippled me academically.
