Looks like I'll be working as an election official this year for the Democratic party \:D/
Oh and MC, individual votes are what decide the president, our representatives, our county and city officials. To say that it's just "one measly vote" is ridiculous.
Nope. that isnt how it works at all actually. Your vote for president is actually a vote for a representative who would go to the electoral college and vote the candidate you want into the presidency. And this representative is under no legal requirement to vote for any candidate. We could have 100% votes for Obama, and the 538 electors could actually vote Romney for president and that's who it would be.
This is why back in 2000 Gore had more votes then Bush, but bush won the presidency. Individual votes dont count. It's who has the most elector votes.

Wake, I get it.
I'm simply making the point that votes are what decide these things. Votes decide where the electoral votes go as well.
I though for a second about clarifying, but I'm like "naw, nobody's going to be that damn technical about it", but of course I forgot that you were online.
EDIT: I'm not going to get technical with you right now, I was just trying to make a point that voting matters.
in the history of the US has a state electoral college representative gone against what the state voted for?
Im not sure but if I had to guess I would say no.
Still the point of my comment still valid. Your vote doesnt elect a president, it elects a representative from your area to hopefully vote the way you would. And some states are so one sided that your vote holds even less water. Like in NY... NY is a all or nothing state, and it is so democratic that anyone who votes R has no chance.

It's weird in this day of age with file sharing and leaks.
BTBAM just posted one of those countdown things like The Faceless were doing. Just a picture of Parallax II that has "5 DAYS" on it. Five days until we finally hear the new album!
And here I am having listened to it six times already. :-?
seriously though, i don't vote because A) i don't care, i find politics extremely boring, C) when your 2 top choices are like this years sometimes i think not voting sends a better message to the government that things need to change then voting would which leads me to D) i don't like either of those guys, and E) C and D are moot points because i dont care
If you don't see the merits of voting, then you can get the hell out of America.
merits of voting? let me elaborate, i don't not vote as some sort of act of rebellion or statement. i don't vote because i don't care. im not really concerned with any of the "issues" that politicians handle. i never pay attention to that stuff anyway.
you're not concerned about the economy collapsing and being in a depression? ok <_>
honestly? no.
