im optimistic about the long haul of young adult voters tho, i would love to see the statistic of people aged 18 - 24 who voted third party/independent compared to 50 years ago...i bet the numbers would be pretty good

i think the people who chose not to vote just are way too lazy to actually see which candidate stands for what issue
like really, how about you actually take the time to figure out how you want your future to be

Let me play devils advocate: What about the people who do read up on the issues, facts and know Obama and Romney inside and out yet still dislike each and dont feel each is right for their future? Should they just vote anyways for something they dont like?

If i go to a bar wanting a beer and Im told they only have bud light or miller lite but i wanted better quality.. Should i lower my standards and take it for the sake of beer or should i continue to seek what i want and find a place to give my money (vote) to?
You don't have to vote for either. Just vote for somebody dammit.
Im not saying I will or won't vote. Like Monica, I keep it to myself. I don't agree with saying vote for the sake of voting even if it comes down to the lesser of evils. I actually think a poor voting turnout sends a message that will ultimately get ignored. You're not doing any good voting for crap because you should vote for somebody.

Arguing about politics is pointless. Arguing about politics on an Internet forum, priceless.

damn white people have no fight in them, where would we be if MLK jr just said, eh americans are racist fucks its never going to change..wheres my bathroom? oh yea the dirt hole in the ground in the back

You are comparing a revolution, to a rigged system meant to keep the slaves in shackles. A more accurate representation would be if black people were offered some civil rights, but not enough to ever actually be free. Then someone like MLK jr. wouldnt have much to speak up about because they were being thrown a bone. It isnt the change blacks want, but it's marginally appears to be slightly better then what they had yesterday.

That's what im talking about Nola. I feel we are too far past the point where the politics in this country can be fixed via a peaceful shift in power. No. The system is to corrupt to allow power to be lost in this way. It will require a violent revolution and it will happen in this country. Will it happen tomorrow? No... but it is building up and I see the signs of it more and more everyday.

So that's what im saying. Our votes are rigged, and it makes no difference if you vote or not. A revolution is coming and it is not going to be carried out on a ballot but will involve the blood of many tyrants. Things just aren't bad enough for it to happen yet. Im almost half tempted to vote for Romney because he might help bring about the revolution sooner rather than later.

Of course, it's your right to not vote, just as it is your right to vote for anyone you want. I just don't agree with giving that up, as debatable as the merit of your vote is.

Sure. It's human nature... just look in the history books. I don't think a revolution will happen anytime soon though. Im thinking more on the time frame of 20-40 years.

And I'm not just "being lazy" or refusing to learn anything about the election or the candidates, i truly do not want either Obama or Romney as president, and for me this year there is no "lesser of two evils", and neither of them "pisses me off less".
