i trust mayhew to fix the cap situation...and the players have already proved there willing to cut deals for the team
Cutting cap values is different than cutting money. I think Mayhew's going to have a bigger problem creating a budget for it, not keeping it under cap. With that said, now about a half of next year's cap is with Stafford, Johnson and Suh. That's a problem.
The most underrated move this free agency period was the Lions not retaining Wright, who probably could have been replaced with a cardboard cutout. Especially when it cost what? 6 mil a year to keep him in Detroit? Shudder.
I'm not going to bug out about the cap until I see how much they signed him for. So far I like every deal they've made, especially letting Wright walk to take an obscene amount of money in Tampa. Our defense was solid last year until our secondary and line got completely ravaged by injuries. I think Atogwe would be a good fit simply because we need depth at every secondary position, hence why we brought in Lacey. Spievey does not inspire confidence right now. With Landry gone, hopefully we'll get Otogwe and hope a corner like Kirkpatrick or Jenkins drops to us in the draft. I'm not particularly fond of Stephen Gilmore.
The Eagles have agreed to a trade with the Houston Texans for former Pro Bowler DeMeco Ryans in exchange or a mid-round pick, according to FOX's Jay Glazer.
Ryans was a Pro Bowler in 2009, when he had 123 tackles. He played in 16 games last year, starting all 16, and had 64 tackles.

Depending on the pick, assuming it's a 4th or 5th, that's an incredible trade for the Eagles.

I'd say that Jenkins would be a poor fit for your defense, because I doubt his ability to play press man in the NFL. Kirkpatrick will probably end up being a safety, but I think he has CB potential still.
Look for someone like Chase Minnifield or Dennard in the second. There's more value in the middle of the 2nd than in the first.
yeah, it was a 4th and switch of 3rd, we desperately need help at linebacker, i have a boner over this. I hope they draft a good LB too, and a safety, please we need a safety.

I don't think either of them will be on the board at that point anyway. I just don't want Gilmore. There won't be a linebacker for us there either. At that point I'd like them to get an offensive lineman, be it Peter Konz (though a big part of me wants them to grab David Molk later) or Mike Adams or Cordy Glenn.
Dude. You have NO IDEA how much I miss it especially after the run we just had. I really bELIeve we will repeat. I think ELI will shut everyones mouth once and for all next season.

You dig them looking at Atogwe?
