Lynch ran for 1,200 yards and stayed healthy. That's about the same as Forte, who hurt his knee. Forte's better at catching out of the backfield, but other than that, what's the major difference? Forte's better, but not by that much.

The difference for one is Forte gives effort, whereas Lynch mails it in half the time. Forte is probably the best pass catching RB in the NFL and I believe led the league in all purpose yards for RB's before he got hurt. He has way more upside than Lynch and if you don't realize that you don't pay attention.
CF mad. I've watched both Lynch and Forte play. Lynch is a damn good running back who's finally playing up to his potential after being a complete bust in Buffalo. There aren't many running backs that run harder than him. Maybe Adrian Peterson.
The Lions have placed the franchise tag on Avril......now I'm getting worried.

dont be fooled by that one play against the Saints in the playoffs in 2011. If he ran that hard even 50% of the time, maybe you can say that, but he takes plays and games off. He doesn't match up and in ypc and will never be the receiver that Forte is.

Everyone but Jay is crazy. Lynch has outperformed Forte in Seattle, but I think that deal is just a dreadful idea for the Seahawks.
Why? 4 years 31 million = ~7.75 mill. So what is that an overpayment of? Maybe 1-2 million per year? Certainly he is worth 5 million per year. 6 Million is probably about a even split... 7.75 might be a little high but he's getting the job done.
you also have to consider he is also entering his 7th NFL season and rb's shelf life of productivity usually ends in around the 8th season in today's NFL. FTR Forte is entering his 5th.

I'm not a fan of giving that much guaranteed money to a running back, and I especially don't like spending 5 million on Lynch in 3 years.
