A Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver has been indicted after a drug shipment was delivered to his home last fall.
Jerome Simpson was indicted on one count of trafficking marijuana by a grand jury on Thursday, according to a tweet from Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders. Simpson faces 1 to 5 years in prison if convicted, according to Sanders' tweet.
Sanders told News 5's Laura Borchers that Simpson has been cooperative in the investigation and would be eligible for a diversion program.
Authorities previously said Simpson and Anthony Collins were at Simpson's northern Kentucky home in September when Simpson's girlfriend, Aleen Smith, 27, signed for a package containing 2.5 pounds of high-grade marijuana.
A California Department of Justice spokeswoman said at the time that investigators searched Simpson's home with his permission and found six more pounds of pot along with other related items such as packaging materials, scales and smoking devices.
Collins was cleared, but the investigation of Simpson continued. Simpson played the remainder of the Bengals' games this season.

When an officer asks permission to search... "I do not give consent to search" if you are arrested, you only need to remember one little word "Lawyer". I dont feel sorry for the idiot. If you're gonna do that sort of shit, at least spend a little time learning how to keep yourself out of trouble.

happy 10th anniversary to the snowbowl. still pisses off Raiders fans
That's because it was the wrong call.
Can someone explain what financial obligation the Colts have to Manning? He signed a 6 year deal, spent the 1st year on IR, and has 5 remaining years. What are the financial obligations to releasing him? And Why would they want to release him as opposed to trying to trade him for someone?
I believe he has a 28 million dollar guaranteed bonus coming on March 5th(?) and since his contract is so massive, in addition to a no trade clause, he is untradeable.

To repeat what you said cause Im sick and want to make sure I understand... Colts pay 28 million no matter what. They could trade him if some fool team wanted to pick up the remaining value of his contract, however no one besides Indy would pay him that much. So They give him his 28M, say thanks for the service, and then he is free to sign a new FA contract tomorrow, and the colts get nothing from it. is that correct?

No. The Colts can get out of paying him his bonuses and only give him his guaranteed money if they cut him before March 5th.
Steve Spagnuolo has agreed to a deal to be the Saints new defensive coordinator.
Super Bowl victory in the next 3 years.
Joe Philbin will be the new head coach for the Dolphins.
Pats defense sucks too and he played good, not exactly great because he lost them the game at the end with a turnover. Yeah he lit up a horrendous Lions defense in this years season finale but its way too small of a sample to give him big bucks.
