There is an institutional problem, yes. But not all cops are bad people. Just as not all blacks are thugs, not all cops are pigs. There are a lot of cops doing a lot of good out there in the world. But the media doesn't talk about them (they don't need to, their doing their jobs). But it skews public view then, when all you hear about is the negative side of police.
In response to the Nazi comment from before, I do not blame all Nazis, mainly the soldiers following orders. I blame the ones in power. I'm sure a lot of Nazi's felt uncomfortable about what they were doing, and believed what they were doing was wrong. But when fear becomes a factor, its hard to disobey. A lot of people in Germany feared what would happen if they disobeyed Hitler. When you have an authority figure telling you what you are doing is ok, even if its wrong, it often trumps common decency. Even everyday people are susceptible.
A lot of these abuse videos start when somebody is being disrespectful to them, egging them on, trying to show off, and are all around acting like assholes. You poke a bear, its going to lash out. You start a fight with a cop, they are going to lash out. Cops are still human, I'm with FF on this. Human's are imperfect and are prone to mistake. Cops are imperfect as a result. Additionally, cops are surrounded by violence and crime. All day every day. And with the media turning everyone against them, its no wonder some cops are starting to act like bullies. The constant death, crime, and hate has to weigh in on some peoples psyche.
But I'd rather have a world where the silent majority of cops still fight for people's safety and help remove criminals off the streets, than a world with no cops at all, where criminals are free to do as they want without risk of consequence.
Yes there is a need for internal change in the system. Yes many cops do abuse their power, or watch as other abuse their power. But waging a war against cops, thinking they're all bullies, referring to them all as pigs, creating distrust and disharmony is not the answer to these problems. We need a Jim Gordon, not a Falcone.
Growing up in Chicago I was around gang activity all the time and I got niggas in Chicago that gang bang. If you're a neutron like me they ain't bothering you. Might check you if you got certain colors on but that's why I wear an all black outfit or all white when I go down there. And don't cock your hat. Jus gotta be street smart. I never get bothered.
If nobody became distrustful or stirred shit then the problem would never get solved and it would have been forever business as usual. I think you underestimate and undermine the seriousness of some if the corruption

yes, but there is a difference between raising awareness and stirring a pot, and being a disrespectful hate-mongering child.
No good cops if they all turn a blind eye. Watch the video ed posted, pig shooed away a citizen trying to stop the bullies and then when he was done shooing he just stood there. Dudes pretty much got jumped, and the cops will get a slap on the wrist and a gun right back in their holster.

Well I mean what made him feel like he could whip put his phone and do whatever the fuck he wanted? There's a lot of police brutality going around and I hate cops as much as the next guy but that is entirely his fault from the little bit I saw
