So its pretty much given up on being a currency? So why does it have value now?
They haven't given up, there are plenty of coins that focus on being a currency like i said.
But crypto never had a chance of being a legitimate currency. It's too volatile. Why would I accept payment in bitcoin if it can lose 20% of its value in one day?
It still has some legitimate uses. XRP was big with banks because they were looking at replacing wire transfers with it. Currently where I work, a wire transfer costs $40, plus a small fee to convert from dollar to whatever currency, and takes one day to process. Why not convert your money to crypto, send it instantly, then that person can convert the crypto to their local currency for no fee/cheaper fee.
An we all agree to try to keep the hyperbole and meme like behavior out of this thread? People are investing real world dollars here, and it’s already muddy waters for people on the fence about jumping in. I love the enthusiasm, I just don’t want people getting bad info here if we can help it.
XRP gets delisted on Jan 19th. (Be ready to scavenge them in the final hours if the price botttoms out) The first XRP court date is set for Feb 22nd. Gonna be a long process. Could lose it all.
It has a circulating supply of 45 Billion coins (by comparison Bitcoin has a circulating supply of 18.6 million) simple rules of supply and demand say its unlikely to ever hit Bitcoin prices (my opinion)
Bitcoin halvings remind everyone how scarce the coins are. Very limited supply. Next halving is in 2024. Stack up till them in my uninformed opinion. Prices tend to jump afterwards. Plus it will be another election cycle so more political upheaval and instability for the US Dollar. My general plan is to play alt coins and take profits slowly over time to leverage a bigger btc position.
I just don’t want people investing in it thinking it’s real though. It’s an obvious joke to anyone who knows but honestly most people still don’t know anything about crypto.
Jk I agree. Crypto is a dangerous hype train that can lose people a lot of money. Just remember any analysts or projections don't know what the fuck they're talking about. We're all going in blind
Dude who brought the lawsuit against XRP is leaving his position. Not sure if this means anything for us, but if a key player is leaving the other team that may be to our benefit.
If we see another dip for XLM before XRP gets delisted on coinbase, I might go all in for a quick pump. A lot of people are gonna be turning their attention to XLM when XRP is gone (hopefully temporarily).
What you get out of it depends on what you put in. I'll be looking for a 30%+ increase. Last week DNT saw a 190% increase in a day. I sold way too soon around 110% but I still turned $200 to $400 over night so I can't complain.
