I’ll explain a little: I’ve been writing a horror movie since June. It’s the real deal this time. I’m down to the last scene right now; 117 pages. It’s about a woman who’s daughter starts turning into an insect. Body horror stuff. It’s my proudest moment as an artist, tbh. It’s about to become my life to get it made. In my experience, music can make or break a film. So what I’m doing is trying to build kind of a playlist to go along with it, especially certain scenes. So far, most of the stuff I’ve picked out has been on the shoegazey or dark wave side. I’m just trying to avoid expensive licensing as much as possible. While I would love to use stuff like ‘White Rabbit’ or even Massive Attack/Tricky/Portishead, stuff like that can rob your budget and get in the way of more useful allocations like special effects. Some friends of mine shot themselves in the foot by picking a Lou Reed song to build their movie around and had to scramble and change a bunch of shit when he refused to let them use it. So yeah, that’s what I’m doing. Prolly shouldn’t have Will’d. It’s only now that I basically have the script complete that I’m comfortable discussing the project
