Just about every new big trend starts on tiktok. If you are trying to grow a following these days, you are just doing your band a disservice not trying to use it in some way.
Yes. American social media does some scummy stuff with data, but they're not married to the government like Tiktok is to the Chinese government. I even stay away from games associated with Tencent launchers and shit. Tiktok is like the worst app you can possibly put on your shit

Also, as far as stealing your personal information, you literally use an android device. Those have never kept you very secure. There is nothing that app is going to take from you that isn't already known.
