Tom Hardy’s little Joe Schmoe voice annoys tf outta me. I gave him a pass for the wheezing Connery impression he gave us with Bane, but this shit is taking it too far
The worst part is that his regular voice is awesome. I love hearing that dude talk on Peaky Blinders in his native accent.
He was so damn good in PB. Every little grunt and tick of his speech made Alphie captivating to watch. So far the Venom trailers makes it sound like he needs to go to speech class. I'm hoping it's only going to be like that during his initial sickness as Venom begins to take over.
I like all 3 Spiderman actors for different reasons. I thought Maguire was necessary for the character at that point, but those movies haven't aged well. The scene in part 2 where Doc Ock is slinging around ACTUAL BAGS OF COINS THAT HE STOLE at Spiderman while 96 year old Aunt May thwarts his attack...I mean, c'mon. Shits stupid af. I don't think anything was wrong with anything to do with Maguire though. Andrew Garfield was my least favorite. He was just too angsty. He pulled off the "young smartass" Spiderman better to me though. There was a fun that he seemed to have with playing Spiderman that was better. Tom Holland is the best, though. He's the balance. Holland is more of an endearing dork than either of the priors. He's not pissy shithead dork like Garfield and not knee-slapper lame dork like Maguire. I still think the first Amazing Spiderman was the best out of all of them. It got ruined by them immediately jumping off the cliff with ASM2, but aside from the melodrama with Denis Leary's character, it was the most spot-on to me. Homecoming is a close second. I thought having the Vulture's daughter just happen to be Spiderman's love interest was too much. Especially knowing the just-happen-to stuff of Spiderman lore already waiting to happen. Think of Betty Brant's entire timeline. And she's just Jonah's secretary. Everybody Spiderman knows irl in the comics has become/married a superhero and likely died/been resurrected. Why add an arbitrary new scenario in there to help clutter it up? Other than that, I loved it. And being part of the Marvel-controlled universe bodes well for the furture of the character. We've already seen the crash-and-burn of the Maguire/Garfield portrayals, so they kinda are what they are now. Holland has a chance to be the actor we associate with Spiderman going forward.
