After looking up how much those things cost, I definitely understand lmao. But at the end of the day, spending 10% of your yearly income on something you're passionate about isn't completely unreasonable. Whether it's a "waste of bread" is really up to the interpretation of the person spending it.
I bet they're not even listening to lossless audio though lmfao

But as I said, it can only get *so* good at some point. I have a $700 pair of studio monitors, $300 studio monitor headphones, and $200 earbuds. So I don’t say this as a cheapskate or as someone who doesn’t already overspend on audio equipment lmao. But at some point it only gets SO good. And I’m willing to bet my bank account that the difference is minimal between those 1.7K buds and my $200 buds. Pointless flex and purchase unless you’re ballin cause you can get the same quality for $1400+ less.
I’ve also seen it in person. Was at a studio that had ADAM monitors which are $1,000 PER speaker. And of course they sounded amazing, but literally the difference between those and my $350 Yamahas was MINIMAL. And certainly not a $650 difference worth. There’s a hard ass ceiling wit these kinds of things.
