I just went through a period where I was into this guy's stuff about 5 months ago. Dude was a trained cellist that picked up bass in order to get opportunities in rock music and just happened to be one of the most talented players very early on. It's like one of those fish to water stories. After Cream dissolved, he continued to make relevant, critically acclaimed albums into the 90s in different genres with many different interesting players. A lot of his instrumentals were sampled by old hip hop music, one specifically was used heavily. It's a shame when some of these guys that really are loving legends die with no recent success. I'm sure this story will barely make a ripple with almost anyone under 30, but dude was pretty much the Les Claypool of his era.

so Clapton , the lead guitarist is a hack but the bass player of the band is ballin? So what's your take on cream then?
Eric Clapton wouldn't have let a bag of coke fall out the window.
