Went back and watched Zathura since that's somewhat part of that universe (and I'd never seen it). Not bad actually. Pretty fun movie and the child actors were better than the adult actors lol
Netflix did a great job with this. Very faithful to the books unlike the movie. I loved these books as a kid. Jim Carrey was great in that movie but NPH is much closer to the Count Olaf in the books.
Splitting one book into two separate hour long shows was a dumb move. One book can be covered in an hour, they weren't that long. It allowed for alot of filler in between parts. Also, why was every character a super dick? The banker's family wasn't like that in the books. I get the point they're trying to bring across, but it doesn't make sense. My biggest thing is this; the books had small doses of funny comedy but the overall feel was focused in the gothic elements. The show is trying to spin everything from a black comedy angel and when you do that, it makes all of the characters seem like they're just being dicks for no reason at all. And Count Olaf was always a devious scumbag, but he was smart about it. In the show, he seems so quick to jump to the fact that he treats the orphans like shit or has them cleaning his entire house. Why would he admit shit like that to a court Justice? Idk I finished episode 3 and just couldn't do it any longer.
I just watched the series finale of sense8 and fuck ((((((((((((( no show has ever made me feel like this show. So upset it’s over. Especially before it even began really.

Show is still lit
Highly recommend. Honestly had no idea who Jimmy Iovine was before this but damn he quite literally changed popular music for this generation
Watching season 2 of Goliath rn
