he was truly a Chicago icon, from his work with Second City in the '60s to using Chicagoland as his backdrop for many of his wonderful movies.
we met him briefly once, sitting on the lawn watching Yes at Taste of Chicago years ago. He was walking by, walking a bicycle and I caught eye contact with him, smiled stupidly and hit my sister to look. he busted out laughing and my sister yelled, "It's Moe Green!" (his character from SCTV) he said, "Hey! nice to meet you!" waved at us and kept walking.
and I think he wouldn't mind me putting this up
