i figured with the success of the Behemoth thread, i would start this topic. I have mentioned several times about my brother being in a cult in North Carolina. He is now studying to be a Seventh Day Adventist Pastor in Florida. I have decided to help him and stop being an asshole about it. I have agreed to have a weekly Bible study with him. I have no interest in his version of the Christian religion and am just doing this because he really wants to. I am trying to think of some topics that will get his mind going, maybe cause some confusion, without totally pissing him off. anyone have any topics i can bring up with example from the Bible? that would be sweet

my brother is Seventh Day Adventist. He can't have a job, live in a house or eat food unless its approved by the church. He is convinced i am going to hell

i have tried reasoning with him and the asshole approach and neither worked. I figure if i can understand things better than him, i can use the Bible against him

Read this...Its very interesting and it explains how Jesus never speaks of hell and that it is just a fabrication of the misinterpretations of the catholic church.

Ugh, the bible belt sucks. I can't even begin to count the amount of times I hear "have a blessed day" working in NC. I get handed all diff pamphlets about diff religions all the time. I actually do read them when I get a minute of boredom at work. Some are quite interesting. As for not even getting a job or a house w/out being approved, how do they expect him to live? What kind of house/job can he get?
