Right after meeting people I forget their name as I’m talking to them, yet I can instantly place random names from a video I watched 37 years ago. Not sure how that works.
Bottom line is for long term success we have to produce more things in America. We shouldn't be getting our medicine and tech chips from other countries.
Importing is fine but certain things we have to increase our production on.
I give it until the end of the year until this economy collapses. Prices already going up for stuff coming in from China. Good job guys
Brother 80% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. The economy has been collapsed for 5 years.
I mean, you're both right. The majority of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, byt these tariffs and shifting production is not the fix. Its going to result in higher prices for consumers. Even more people are going to be unable to afford things.
The government should be working at real solutions: Reduce our taxes, and legislate higher pay. I just paid my first round of property taxes: over $4000. I dont have a yard, I live in a town home, and Im paying $9000 a year in property taxes alone. That is unsustainable.
Ive been with my company for 10 years. Im being paid $48,000 a year. Is it not absolutely insane that a company Ive been at for TEN YEARS cant pay me AT LEAST $50,000?
Is it not fucking insane that someone like me, with a Bachelor's Degree in business, and 10 years of work experience, cant find a new job? And if I do miraculously get an offer, its for $42,000, or fucking COMISSION, or doesnt offer benefits?
At some point the government has to step in with these companies and be like "what you're doing is unethical." My parents were both told "you aren't getting raises this year." Do you know how insane that is, with record high inflation and increased cost of living, for your place of employment to be like "yea, no more raises?"
Its unsustainable.
The ONLY things these tariffs will result in, is higher costs for me. Im already barely able to afford my hobbies. Soon I'm going to be priced out entirely. I've given up on my dreams and passions to dedicate my life to making money so I can afford a decent life and hopefully be able to have a family some day, and it's starting to look like it's simply not going to be possible.
The economy has been broken, yes. But its just going to get worse. We're looking at a even more severe Great Depression.
I pay all of our bills for a family of 5. It is hard as fuck lol.
As far as the terrifs go. I really don't know what to think.
On one hand, most of the worlds successful economies have tarrifs. But on the other hand, until we do produce more of our own goods, it is going to make things harder.
Either way we're fucked. But at least someone is actually auditing what we are spending and bringing it to light. I do like that part of the administration so far.

I don't see how you can argue that after this last administration.
