The fact that Jeff never got the fame and attention that Kerry did fucking sickens me. He was the mastermind behind the band, and many metal bands after Slayer have followed/honored his style of playing. I shall finish listening to their discography while working today. Started last night.
Well, their last 2 albums were terrible and they won't have their 2 most important members going forward. I think they should just go the Pantera route and just sit back and collect on t-shirt sales and tour with project bands when they feel the itch
Don't get me wrong: I loooooooooove Slayer. LOVE. I've raged out in Slayer pits a dozen times...but the last couple of times I saw them live Tom only sang about half the lyrics (he even did it on the big 4 dvd) and the bands that they've chosen to tour with since the first "Unholy Alliance" leave much to be desired. I'm not sure if I care for them continuing
"Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church has announced plans to picket the funeral of SLAYER guitarist Jeff Hanneman, claiming that it will sing its "parody" of OZZY OSBOURNE's "Crazy Train" "at full voice" at the event."
