90s Melodeath was aight. I used to call all of the Gothenburg bands "Carcass Clones" cuz IMO Carcass invented melodeath with 'Heartwork'. I can still listen to old In Flames, At the Gates, Dark Tranquility...maybe a couple of others. As a genre, it's been painted into a corner though. It was really annoying around 05-06 when Metalocalypse came out and dipshit tryhard n00bz would act like melodeath was the pinnacle of metal
