there is a big gap between the final american date and the festivals anyways. they'll prolly add some dates as things progress. i just figured slap and alex would be interested

I wish bands would do the two or three month tour spans where they hit every city it seems like they used to or at least some did.

Well, most shows smaller bands play are usually at bars or something. Sometimes the bars will have all ages shows like Thee Parkside or Bottom of the Hill, but most the time it's 21+. The places like The Elbo Room and The Independent are always 21+, no exceptions. But there are plenty of all ages venues, but a lot of bands I want to see aren't big enough to sell well there, so they play the smaller places, which are usually bars and stuff.

That blows. I don't think I've seen an age restricted show around these parts (for one that I want to attend anyway). Shows should be open to everybody

slap needs to be more resourceful doe. i was seeing 21+ shows when i was 17 years old because i made friends with the people at the venues and shit like that

I've been thinking of getting a fake ID for shows, but I don't know if I look mature enough yet.

Satan, you're not wrong, but how am I supposed to make friends with peeps at the venues I'm not allowed into? I've been successful in becoming buddies with Cormorant so when they play 21+ shows they can get me in, but I don't think they'll be playing any shows soon

personally, i got a job at a venue directly after quitting high school and made my connections from there. i did, however, meet a guy at a punk rock show once that turned out to be the head of security at another venue. we were just chillin' outside having a smoke and hit it off. when the dead kennedys played his venue, i ended up getting to meet the band and hang out backstage. that sort of shit happens to me a lot. i'm really, really social. i can talk to just about anyone. it opens up a lot of doors. if i were you, i'd try to make connections on shit like facebook with the show promoters. a lot of those dudes are fans like us, and love to meet people with similar interests

Okay. I just need to learn to be more social/extroversive at shows and stuff. I usually just keep to myself unless I go with friends.
