I don't know if many people have heard this unique genre of music, but it really kicks ass in my opinion. It's so exotic and fresh sounding. What's even more awesome is that metal is banned from the Middle East, and it's punishable by law, sometimes even death if caught doing it. So massive props to these guys for sticking it to the man and rebelling. \m/ check it out. Don't worry they speak English for the most part.
only middle eastern-ish bands I've heard is Kryptos and Acrassicauda but they don't really have that middle eastern/persian sound to them.
Indian and Persian classical music is awesome, so its cool they included some of that in there, like the sitar stylized stuff, and quarter-tone type stuff.
Last song kinda sounded like Laid to Rest though haha

I know what you mean with the whole sitar and quarter tone. It's such a unique sound. And middle eastern fol is the best (or classical). It's literally apart of their metal genre to include traditional oriental music other wise they wouldn't consider it real metal. It's really interesting to research about their musical culture. Huh I never would've thought that song sounded like Laid To Rest. Here's another one for ya. http://youtu.be/lZUcWngEtcM
i have this sampler cd showcasing middle eastern metal bands. the best part is the label "mission statement" on the back where they're talking shit on black metal bands. to paraphrase, it's like "what's more foreboding? living near a big, dorky forest or living in an area where car bombs are the norm?" i'll see if i can dig it up
