I'd never heard of H3 before so I googled it. I guess its a shortcut from one side of the island to the other but is mainly used by the military? I'm going to Oahu and Kuai in May :-bd
I assume it's geothermal but I'm not sure where that pic is from. We have similar stuff like that at Wai-O-Tapu in Rotorua like this (but its not as colorful)

@ Gnomez It takes you to Kaneohe, so once you exit the haunted tunnel you will take your first exit (the only exit) you should be good. If you stay on the H3 it dead ends at the Marine base, where they will be more than helpful to turn you around..

You should check out the mysteries and myths of the islands they're pretty cool, and somewhat true.. Dont have pork in your car while riding on the LikeLike highway, dont take lava rocks from the big island etc, etc...

My old boss bought some lava rock from the big island home to NZ. Bad shit and accidents started happening to him (nothing major but just a series of minor events) so he Posted the rock back to hawaii again )
