The best fix for that one hitter is to either hit it slow and steady or stuff it with the bigger bits first to keep the dusty old shake in the hitter instead of your grill.

Everyone says it builds up a good amount of resin, but I end up habitually cleaning it after every use. It's kinda fun to clean.

You have to clean them every now and again but I wouldn't do it every time. Throw that fucker in the trash and get some papers. You'll be better off in the end.
