Yes Iommi is like the ultimate riff master, but as an overall guitarist, i believe Blackmore is slightly better, as are Stevie Ray Vaughn, David Gilmour and Jimmy Page, i can't think of any others that come close.

It depends on what your basis for judgement is. Technical skill? Creativity? Song writing ability? Consistency?
I wouldnt put Blackmore in my top 20. Gilmour and SRV make a good argument. However I'll pass on Jimmy Paige.
i can see iommi being #1 if we're talking about riffs, not skill. but then you have petrucci, who is all skill and no riffs, in at #3. this makes no sense.
Utter horseshit to lump these guys together. Yes the dueling galloping riff styles they played together are awesome and pretty influential, but listing them together is a greater disservice than omitting them would be.....
