Question for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners

i was looking for a way to stream videos that i download to my ps3 and i came upon the 'PS3 Media Server'. anyone use it? i just downloaded it and my antivirus software said it was safe and im just curious if it's reliable or if it causes any problems. if you haven't heard of it, it let's you stream anything from your computer to your console (movies/videos, music, photos, etc.).

Just hook up an HDMI cord from your PS3 to computer?? :-??

You don't need any of that... if your computer is connected to a wifi network all you can access it with your console...

at least that's how it work with 360.

Not only that if they're downloaded and on your computer you can copy them onto a flash drive and do it that way

at least that's how it work with 360.

that must be a microsoft thing cause i never heard of being able to do that but it would make sense seeing as how i can connect to my internet via wireless router though.

I've used it before... Worked just fine. Pretty sure I had used it for both Vuse and Tivo. If you have trouble connecting back to psn after, go back and turn the media server off again. I always got an error code if I left it on.

I feel like it was a task to get it to stream mkv files though. i dont know for sure because I messed with that for about 2 seconds until I found a better solution then that.
