Stage 3 Lyme disease. Thats what judy has had this whole time. Fucking lyme disease, but because the medical system in NC is so piss poor no doctor would run blood work and an easily curable condition turned into paliminary paralaysis. I'm finding myself an ambulence chaser an going to town.

whats next for Judy? i am not familiar with the stages for lyme disease. Hopefully now that it has been diagnosed treatment will help

Waiting to hear back from the infectious disease dept of UNC. Its past the point of being completly curable. They can halt its progression though

I'm happy you guys finally got an answer and can move forward with getting treatment. It is shitty doctors didn't listen and do their job better so it wouldn't get this far and as bad as it is

The only thing that really sucks is that the one team of doctors at the clinic I went to first didn't listen and basically just literally gave me pain med after pain med and sent me off to pain management. The new clinic that is ran by only one doctor was able to solve over 3 years of pain in under 2 weeks. It only took her 2 weeks instead of 1 day because I had other problems she wanted to solve first.

I'll never be able to get rid of it fully. The only thing ID (infectious disease) can do is basically try to halt the progression and hope that I only have to use a wheelchair on bad days instead of everyday. My doctor graduated from the University of Virginia and says that anyone who graduated from UNC disgusts her because they are all in it for the money.

Doctors should be in the field to help people, not be money hungry assholes who don't give a shit

The one we found is like that. Pharmaceutical companies have tried to buy her out and she told em to fuck off

that's just bullshit that they couldn't recognize something they could have easily cured.
    seriously, wtf.
The problem was everyone thought she was lying and just wanted perc's and shit.

My current doctor couldn't believe that in 3 years all they did was write me off w/ more pain meds rather than pull a simple blood test.

Sounds like you have a good case here, so far. How many doctors did you see before you got this diagnosis? 3? 4? More?

I've always heard of how horrible lyme disease can get and how it can destroy a person's life. Never thought that after all these years it'd be the answer of my pain. Now the only thing I can do is hope that Infectious Disease can actually be of some help or at least close the case so I can get medicaid to cover a lot of my doctors bills.

It doesn't surprise me so many doctors care more about money then peoples well being. It's wrong and I think it's complete bullshit regardless. I would like to know why I get frequent headaches and why my knees are bad but I'm still hesitant to go because I don't want the run around

The main thing that upsets me is if I get preggo now, I can pass it onto the unborn fetus. So yea, there's a good chance that my baby could be born w/ chronic lyme disease. I can't pass it to anyone else but can pass it to an unborn child. If this was treated up to 3 years ago, I could of probably lived a normal life.

Oh warning to anyone in the northeast, those lil tiny red dot ticks are the ones that usually carry lyme disease.

Medicine and pharmaceuticals is by far the most corruptible business out there. It's easy to take advantage of people when they die if they don't do what you say.

They make a velcro like noise when I straighten them and only hurt if they're bent a decent amout for anywhere from 5-30 minutes. Other then that they aren't much of an issue. Getting up from a low area is beginning to suck ass though. I'll have to try that stuff and see if it helps

a friend of mine has lyme disease. he didn't even know he had it until one day he went blind for like 2 hours. went to the hospital and that's how he found out.

really glad to hear you guys found an answer.... Really hope you guys lawyer up and sue the fuck out of those other doctors. You have records of your visits... 3 years to diagnose lyme disease seems inexcusable. I doubt even a million dollars would make up for the impact it's had on your life.
  • NecrothulhuNecrothulhu Posts: 33,444 master of ceremonies
well that sounds like it will take a few weeks or more for you to feel a significant difference... that doesn't sound good at all either... thinking of the velcro noise is making me cringe
It isn't and has gotten worse over the years. I'll try this out and see if it makes a difference. You should see Marc's face when my knees make that noise when I get up
