Decided to wait on physical copies for 2 reasons. 1: I wouldn't have been able to afford any Christmas gifts for Mom and woulda felt like a selfish piece of shit. And 2: The online version ain't even getting much attention right now, and I don't wanna waste the money 'til that at least picks up.
Since it's just about the end of the year, how would you rank it for yourself, Erik? From all the effort put in pre release to the aftermath of it all..

Still personally love the mixtape and am very proud of it, I listen to it frequently, especially at the gym, but the overall experience of it was so disheartening. No one really gave a fuck. And inb4 "lolcuzyousuckwiggerfaggot", 'cause it's not that anyone was talking shit or hating, it's that no one even listened to it or gave it a fucking chance. It has a total of 6 downloads and 17 streams on DatPiff, and the track wit the most plays on SoundCloud has a whopping 55 plays. Idk, it's had me really discouraged wit Music, haven't done jackshit Music related except writing a few hooks ever since it dropped. Haven't even listened to much Music from anyone else either. Haven't brought my iPod wit me to the gym in like 2 weeks, and that's how long my iPod's been dead. Just haven't wanted to think about Music at all, so I been focusing on lifting and just taking free time, doing anything but Music, video games, whatever. The discouragement has also obviously destroyed any creativity and ideas for the time being.
Besides that, just sent The Pilot into a couple Hip Hop blogs tonight, fingers crossed.
That's just what happens though. You can't realistically expect to just put shit online and it to just blow up. You gotta work it. Down here, there's dudes at every gas station hawking their demo. One guy I met had already got Weezy on his shit. When I used to be in death metal bands, we would send our tape to anyone and everyone we looked up to trying to find a deal. We actually got letters back from from guys in Internal Bleeding once saying our demo was the sickest thing they'd ever heard. It didn't get us nearly as much traction as a little 7 date tour we did though. It turned out to be too much of an uphill battle for the other musicians and they would get disheartened and quit. Same with movies. The first short film I ever did was for a 48 hour competition where you had to write, shoot, edit and score an 8 minute short film in 2 days. I didn't sleep the entire weekend and got a concussion from one of the action scenes where a guy hit me in the head with a dryer door. At the initial screening, half the people there laughed at it and when I posted it on MySpace, some of my friends even shit all over it. But you gotta be willing to take that shit and move on. 90% of making it in art is being able to have people either ignore you or tear your work to shreds and be able to move on to the next project with the intent on making something better. It's good for you that the release of your tape didnt pop overnight. It builds ethic. It also separates the contenders from the pretenders. It hasn't been long since you dropped it, so I'd still be focused on pushing the tape, but you should also be taking note of what did and didn't work so you can sharpen your skills for the next time
