I Need Opinions

so godsmack, staind, and halestorm are running a contest to let the fans design the official tour poster so i figured i'd give a shot. The winner gets $500, 2 tickets to one of the shows and some other stuff. so i'd like some input from you guys before i turn anything in. in my design something seems a bit off but i cant figure out what. sorry for the large images. they want the images fuckin' huge and i already shrunk them down a lot but still they're big enough to where you can see some of the detail. the first one is the entire poster and the second one is a close up of the banner so you can see the effects i used on it to make it look like a shread piece of canvas with the tour name painted on it. and the tagline "Two of the most powerful forces in rock history" was an optional suggestion they made and i thought it went perfect with the idea of the stage exploding. what do you guys thing? something seems a bit off with my design but i can't figure out what.

Personally I dont like the poster. I dont mean that to be a slam on you or your work which im sure you spent a lot of time on. It's not shitty like the usual things little kids do, it's just not a professional rock concert poster IMHO. Here is what I dont like about it

1. I dont like the tag line at all. it makes the poster looked cluttered. The font is awful, and it just sorta throws everything off. This should be removed IMHO
2. Maybe it is just the pictures you posted, but I dont like the torn canvas thing... It doesnt really look like that, but maybe it is because of the images you posted.
3. Godsmack and staind and Hailstorm should be centered IMHO
4. Can you put the special guest also centered with hailstorm below it?
5. This is probably a stupid idea - but since it is the mass chaos tour can you put some people behind the gate freaking out? Maybe zombies? Idk...Just want something else but Dont really know what would be cool.
6. Perhaps play with the tour fonts a little?

i agree with you, it looks unprofessional. and i aslo agree that it looks too cluttered. i just couldn't figure out what do with it cause my actual drawing skills are kinda limited so i had to make it somewhat simple. they want for it to resemble the energetic stage presence that staind and godsmack have so i put the exploding stage in there. but thanks for the honest input. im perfectly fine with criticism. i knew something was off but i couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Bands should be centered, the "two of the most..." thing should be a little brighter, the rafter-type things in that same section feel out of place...maybe if they were straight across?

yeah.... I'm not saying you shouldnt submit something, but maybe if tried to do some of my tips it might look better.

Just so you know... I couldnt do any better then that. I've seen the work of graphic designers and nothing I can do could even come close to what they create (if they are good that is).

i'd reverse the tour name and the band names and make the band names larger. also, give some of the text drop-shadows

its look better when i have it in photoshop. that pic came out looking a little weird for some reason. and i made it. but im sure i can find a way to make it better though. i made everything in those pics

make the names bigger. that fireball is not the star of the show.

if i made the names bigger they would start to take up too much space like last time. and both the godsmack and staind logos have to be the same size. i guess i could make that whole center with the stage and explosion and everything smaller.
