MY FAVORITE: Dream Theater may dress a little flamboyant, but at least they don't look like fat, wife beating, middle aged losers like the guys in Mastodon. And once again, Mastodon can only hope that their music will one day reach the level of Dream Theater, which it won't.
i've known brent and troy from mastodon for 14 years. they were melvins-loving weirdos that played shows nude in a band called 4 hour fogger prior to mastodon. to the culture of people they come from (l5ppunxskinsoi!), they're heroes for not giving a huge fuck about their clothes and hair and shit. they never wanted to be lumped in with the faggy "prog" bands like queensryche or dream theater. that interview was after 'blood mountain' came out when a lot of people were lumping them in with those bands, so they were trying to distance themselves from it. i don't blame them. if someone introduced me to a band and compared them to dream theater, i'd be like "next!".
mastodon shits on dream theater in every way shape or form
mastodon is everything what metal should be and dream theater sucks just plain and simple....i srsly dont understand how people can listen to that corny shit or 90 percent of prog music
