My friend got a baby goat as a christmas gift, it does this all the time, it's funny to watch but it it's gotten bigger so it doesn't fall down as much anymore.
she's hilarious. the last time we took her to the vet for a check up we took her out of her travel cage, she took one look at the vet and said, "uh oh!"
Parrots are fucking amazing, but you basically have to dedicate your life to them to successfully keep them. They need like 4-5 hours daily of human interaction, or they can literally get suicidal. Fuck that.
By suicidal, I mean they'll literally start plucking their chest feathers out of depression, and can pluck a blood feather and bleed to death. This is why any rescued parrots you see are bald from the head down, 'cause they were neglected and started plucking.
chinchillas can do that with their fur if they get depressed too but you dont need to 'dedicate your life' to a parrot if youre going to have one so they require a bit more care than a standard dog or cat, who cares?
Not literally, but 3-5 hours out of every day or you have to worry about them plucking? Not worth it. People have jobs, school, hobbies, gym, friends, etc.
Not hating on parrots, birds are my 2nd favorite animals behind reptiles, just too high maintenance for to personally own. If they were like smaller birds like Parakeets and Cockatiels, I'd gladly own one, 'cause they're absolutely amazing animals otherwise.
they said Cuppy needed at least 2 hours of play outside her cage or shed be depressed sometimes she doesnt get a full hour for one reason or another and shes fine they recommend that, yes, but unless its very prolonged periods, it should be fine my friend has an African Grey and she doesnt give it 3-5 hours

we got ours from one of my bosses (free! cage included!) who buys her kids the most popular pet and then gets tired of it. she was sick when we got her and totally out of control because they didn't pay attention to it enough. smaller birds can get just as 'cagey' if you ignore them.
people have compared it to 'taking care of an autistic 5 year old for the rest of your life' but she's so smart and loves music. she knows lots of words, and it's still weird to have a conversation with her. she gets along with the cats because we got them as kittens and they know she's the boss.
