Veterans Day

Thanks to all of my family and friends that have served or are curently serving in the United States armed forces. It is because of you that we have such an amazing country to live in. I would like to especially like to thank my grandfather Private Frank Harris "pinky" King (RIP) who survived in a Japense p.o.w camp for 8 months after his ship, the USS Houston was sunk by an enemy torpedo all while only being 19 years old. When I look for inspiration to overcome anything in life, I think of what he went through just to get back to the country he loved. If he had not made it back I wouldn't be here right now... God bless our soldiers, and God bless America.

I started Veterans Day at midnight last night by thanking my boss, who fought with the Tenth Mountain Division in WW2 in the Italian Alps. his two oldest grandsons are both in the service, and I've known them since they were born. one is in Afghanistan and the other is in an "undisclosed location." my dad was drafted near the end of WW2 while he was still in high school. when Ozzy's song "Thank God For The Bomb" came out, my dad said, "damn right! if it hadn't been for that, you would probably never have been born. they would have sent me to die on some god-forsaken Japanese island somewhere."

the military is one of the most noblest of careers anyone could have, putting their lives on the line for our safety.
my most heartfelt appreciation goes out to each and every one of them.
