I know theres a few people on this board that are into MMA. My son has a bully in his class and i would like for him to be able to kick their ass. What is a good age to start MMA training? He is 4

good enough age to start some martial arts lessons of some sort or just teach him how to punch someone

I wasn't looking forward to putting my son in school anyway so thanks for that info. lol

I was hoping that stuff would start a little later for them like around 8.

My dad taught me and my brother how to fight at a young age. He told us to aim for the nose. we always did and to this day I have never gotten my ass beat.

I plan to teach my son the same thing.

my son has 2 kids in his class that keep on bullying and pushing him around. My wife is seeing this stuff daily when she drops him off. Both kids are a year older than him. The teacher doesn't seem to notice, but my wife has been. I allready told my son, if a kid does something to him and he doesn't like it, say something. if it happens again, do it right back

John, best to do Martial Arts. Get him into a karate school not MMA. Thats a little to uh....more extreme for someone his age. Karate teaches a lot more then MMA can ever teach. I started when i was like 5

No, but him thinking he can beat someone to an inch of their life might. No ref in real life mate. What if he ends up killing the kid cause he continues to beat him and doesn't stop? No problem with MMA, but kids can get the wrong idea with this kind of sport and can end up doing more damage then good.

I would find a gym that teaches everything in Mixed Martial Arts, a lot of kids take boxing at my MMA gym.

i depends on the instructors in the area. My nephew is 5 and most wond start him till 6 or 7. and it depends on your sons personality. if he cant be controlled or dosent listen, hes not going to do anyone any good in class

Every kid learns Karate today and I feel MMA would be the right choice, all you need is a few boxing classes and I think your kid will do just fine.

my wife just asked me what MMA was. i responded its a cage where 2 people beat the piss out of each other. i guess we should ask the teacher to set up a cage for the kids to play in
