i studied in the art of Shuri-ryu. learned everything there was about it. work with nunchaku's,bo's and staff's, sai's and kama's. left when i got my 2nd degree black belt. if i stayed i would have been a master of the art right now. one day i feel like doing it over again.

not really my friend. Kung-Fu was started by a general and just became more popular due to the monks popularity. you really dont need to be a Monk to know the true art of Kung-Fu(though it would be awesome). just head to China and find a famed school for Kung-Fu. i learned a little of it during the time of my Shuri-ryu studys. religion was never a need to learn a art. just go in with a open mind and will to learn and you will be fine.
