Are you sure you watched the playoffs at all last season? Because without Dirk they would have gotten a beat down by the Thunder and Heat. Dirk WAS the reason the Mavs won the title last season.

The playoffs don't equal the regular season. I don't think anyone is saying that it's impossible for the Mavs to win games without him, but if he wasn't on the team they wouldn't have won the title. Simple as that. Your comparison just doesn't make sense.
