that's a side project Mikael did with Dan Swano.... his best IMO (Was a tribute to the prog bands they listen to). A shame that only one song was ever released.
OSI is an American progressive rock band, originally formed by Fates Warning guitarist Jim Matheos in 2002. Chroma Key keyboardist and vocalist Kevin Moore is the only other full-time member of the band. The band's name is a reference to the Office of Strategic Influence, a short-lived American government agency formed after the September 11 attacks to spread propaganda. The band has featured a number of guest musicians on its albums, including Steven Wilson, Mikael Åkerfeldt, Sean Malone and Joey Vera.
Some cool aspects of the new song, but the one listen was enough for me. I don't see myself listening to an entire album if it's like this. I struggle to make it thru an Opeth album to begin with..
I liked the song quite a bit. At first I wasn't too excited about the new record, seeing as how they're abandoning the Death Metal aspects, but I could probably deal with a full album of material like this.
