Jack White and his wife of six years, Karen Elson, just announced that they're splitting -- in a very unusual way. The former couple sent an invitation to family and friends announcing their plans to throw a "divorce party."

Their message to friends and family reads, "We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow. In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party, an evening together in Nashville to re-affirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family."

I don't know man, personally I don't see why people would throw such an extravagant party for a divorce. I also don't see why people throw extravagant parties for weddings either or spend so much god damned money on one. It's one day. Just have a fucking weenie roast in your backyard.

Makes me feel like the people who have the biggest weddings don't actually love each other, they just want to convince everyone else that they do.

I'm not against people spending outrageous amounts of money on a wedding or basically no money at all because if they actually do love each other then it's all good
