Your right it does speak volumes and 0 fucks.. Music to me is very simple.. Someone feels strongly about something emotionally and tries to convey that emotion to people who feel similarly in order to experience some kind if connection with that person In metal those emotions are usually aggressive.. So we act aggressive in the live setting to match that emotion... When I'm at a show I'm in the pit 20 feet from the artist screaming the lyrics with one hand up and hitting people with the other as I feel the music going through as if its part of me.. At that point nothing else in life bothers me and 100 percent focused on the moment and that connection.. Now you try and tell me that is a lesser form of experience live music fukkin kill yourself.. You mine as well just go drink some tea and go see the London symphony orchestra preform there snooze fests known as music.. Like frank Zappa said that's fuckin math homework NOT music A good ex is evh vs Jimi Eddie is a technical beast.. Did things that no one else did was not "basic" at all.. But his music was fucking empty just a charade.. A smoke and mirror show.. It held no emotional substance at all Jimi on the other hand was practically speaking though his instruments.. You could feel how Jimi felt through his playing.. he was a god.. You can keep your complexities ill take my music Rock n roll till death all fuckin in \m/
I pit every once in a while. It doesnt make a concert to me. I'd rather chill, and actually watch and enjoy the band. I still experience and become attached to the musical experience. The physical manifestation comes out in my headbanging or singing along.
Besides a lot of bands I see dont really have pits anyways.
Nigga I go to fucking doom metal shows. I'm lucky if I hear 5 different chords in one night. I just said I headbang and hit myself in accordance with te music. You're dumb if you think there isn't an emotional connection. To me it's seems that you're not emotionally connecting to music, but using music as an excuse to let out repressed urges. I have an emotional connection to a lot of the music I go to see in concert, so I don't want any petty distractions as I focus on the music that means do much to me. I want to be as close to the people who took part in creating such a beautiful thing and be there with them as they breath air into it and give it new life. It's like that with jazz. I hate that I have to sit down at most jazz gigs I go to. I wanna be up by the dudes, getting hyped as some dude is fucking shredding. And I don't go to many symphonic concerts but orchestras are pretty damn amazing, because having an idea of what's happening and it excites me and a smile when I hear cool shit. Don't go thinking I see the live experience of music as purely analytical, but if you can't appreciate music, go back to your cave.
Nah but seriously how can you sit here and say noshing is dumb but then say I go to doom shows and hear maybe 5 different cowards a night?
Noshing is getting all that negative emotion anger ect out in a safe environment.... Pits generally are friendly places with people looking out for each other...I find standing in one spot watching a band to be boring as hell...shit for 90% of the Time for the heavy metal bands I see I don't even look at the stage )
