Please help if possible (computer question)

About a month ago, my CD/DVD drive stopped reading cd's. I had just put a cd into iTunes, I put in another CD, and nothing worked. The light flashes and it makes sort of a buzzing sound and no message comes up or anything, but the computer does not recognize the disc. Today, I just finished a demo for a band i'm trying out for, so I put it on a cd and it played perfect on my cd player. When I told my brother about this he said "I thought you said it had problems and wouldn't read" and I was like shit, so I tried and it did the same thing as before. I'm using Windows XP, if anyone can help that's great. (I have no idea the model number or anything)

I have no fucking idea, I don't do this kindof stuff lol. When I removed the antivirus live spyware that was the most intense computer stuff I've ever done haha

well...how hold is the computer? cause some times drives like to just die and you have to replace it.

I never was able to get it fixed.
