It's sort of hard to describe well.

I've noticed that the mixing and recording for black metal have been very different, a lot haven't been the best recording either. I'm assuming the latter is because black metal isn't mainstream

Dimmu USED to be black metal. As soon as the 2000's hit they became symphonic metal with black influences
