I asked Shannon about this when I saw bdm a couple shows after they started touring with him. Shannon said they just didn't play the style he wanted to play and he thought it would be best to leave the band. Then when bdm called him up he said it couldn't have been a better fit for the music he wants to play. As far as I know they are all on good terms because at mayhem we ran into Shannon and Phil hanging out before their sets
