I took a guitar class at a local college while back. I had taken the class before, n i enjoyed it. Basically it taught how to play different styles of music. Then this one year the rock/metal teacher was Tom Hess. So he taught for the week, and let us sign up for his elessons for free.
I still get an email from him every once in a while

Jealous! Dude that's fucking sick! He's an epic guitar player. I love Dawn of Victory solo. Neo-classical is the shit. Did you learn a lot from him?

yea, he taught a lot of basic technique in the class, because there were people of all skill level there. But when he got in to technical stuff it was awsome. He was the first person to really explain to me what sweeping is, and he talked to me about how to get my band noticed.
his elessons have ALOT of good stuff in there too. Rangeing from everything beginner to expert.
He sent me an invite to take a couple week long bootcamp guitar class over the summer, but it was too expensive for me

I envy you. I'm trying to better myself at sweep picking. It's a bitch. If only I could learn from him lol.
