No Jim Root didn't have much of a songwriting role in stone sour before he got booted, and Corey gets to write usually a grand total of one song per slipknot record. MC blaming him for a (inaccurate) sound shift on the grey chapter doesn't make sense.

So much radio friendly bullshit on that album. Clean vocal prominence. Music lacked aggression and chaos from old Slipknot. His screaming sounded phoned in and lazy. You can tell his heart just isnt into Knot anymore, and he just wants to do Stone Sour.

I don't think we listened to the same album. It was overall a lot darker amd aggressive than AHIG

AHIG sucked too outside of like 3 songs. 

I do like Custer on The Grey Chapter, but thats about it.

All of them since Vol 3 have been very similar

Nah. The music was more aggressive and chaotic, and Corey at least tried with his screams. Plus they still had a lot of that noisey/DJ/horror shit on that album

Blister Exists and 3 Nil are great but there is nothing more chaotic about them or more effort into corey's screaming than the heavier stuff on more recent stuff
