yeah dude still one of my favorite albums. Turn Soonest To The Sea is the eternal jam. That breakdown is one of the very few metalcore breakdowns I can get with. I've actually been on a Protest the Hero kick recently. No other band sounds like them. One of the few prog bands that I still jam.
Yeah that album is awesome lyrically. Arif is a genius, too bad he's not still with the band
I never got super into it but I was definitely fucking with some corny shit like Symphony X and Nevermore in high school. Never like Dream Theater tho
I was more into prog that wasnt really prog. It was always Opeth or BTBAM, the more death metal prog, or PTH which was more techy than straight proggy, or Pigeon Toe which was more psychadelic. Even Devin Townsend is more avant-garde than straight prog.
For sure. Those were really as far as I went into trv prog. most of the other stuff was like progressive death metal like Death, Atheist, Cynic, bands like BTBAM and Opeth, and quirky stuff like Cormorant and Giant Squid.

Listened to this album 100 times. "She Who Mars The Skin of Gods" just hit me emotionally in a way it never has before. So poetically beautiful.
Jealousy by Death

@trump check these guys out if you haven't already. Strong Stoner/Kyuss vibes. One of the guys even played with Unida
song kills live. Were you at the congress theater a couple years ago?
